Andrea Cantrell Obituary : With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Andrea Lee “Angie” Cantrell, age 80, of Jasper, Georgia, who peacefully departed this world on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Heritage Hospice in Marietta. Angie was born on August 1, 1943, to Lester and Mary Loss Sr. in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

Angie’s life was marked by love, dedication, and a passion for teaching that touched the lives of many. After marrying Larry Cantrell, she moved to Pickens County, where she devoted herself to her roles as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and educator. For 39 years, Angie shared her knowledge, wisdom, and compassion with countless students, serving as a source of inspiration and guidance to all who had the privilege of learning from her.

Angie is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Larry Cantrell of Jasper; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri Cantrell and Dale Davenport of Canton, and Joan and Scott Wilkins of Talking Rock; her grandchildren, Aspen Danielle Edwards and Bryce James Wilkins; and her great-granddaughter, Aurora Lee Edwards. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mary Loss Sr., and her brothers, Lester Henry Loss Jr., and Charles Orville Loss.

Funeral services to celebrate Angie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home, with Reverend Cody Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Roper Funeral Home.

As we bid farewell to Angie, may her legacy of love, dedication, and inspiration live on in the hearts of all those she touched. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
