Daniel McCloskey obituary: Daniel Patrick McCloskey, aged 71, who departed from this world on March 15, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in his home in Bethlehem Township. Born on the auspicious day of St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1952, in Easton, PA, Daniel was the beloved son of the late Daniel V. McCloskey and Florence (Buris) McCloskey.
Daniel is survived by his devoted wife, Christine Marie McCloskey, with whom he shared a loving marriage since September of 1972 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Palmer Township.
Daniel will be fondly remembered as a kind-hearted man, proud of his Irish heritage, and known for his indomitable work ethic. While he dedicated himself to his professional endeavors, Daniel also knew how to embrace life’s joys and celebrations. A lover of good company and hearty laughter, Daniel was often found hosting gatherings with family and friends in his beloved “party garage,” affectionately known as “Hooligans.” He took great pleasure in cooking, with his wings and corned beef recipes earning him a well-deserved reputation among his loved ones.
A graduate of Easton High School, Daniel’s professional journey spanned several decades and industries, demonstrating his versatility and dedication. He worked diligently for JD Snyder, Ashland Chemical, Air Products, and Staver Hydraulics, leaving an indelible mark on each organization he served.
Daniel will be deeply missed by his wife, Christine, their sons Brian Daniel McCloskey and Eric Leigh McCloskey and their wives Jen and Sheila respectively, their daughter Jodi Lynn McCloskey, his cherished grandchildren Shannon, Dana, Liam, and Kiara, his sister Mary Alice, extended family, and countless friends. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim.
The family will receive guests at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a brief prayer service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Daniel’s honor, reflecting his generous spirit and love for his community.
