Debra Brandt Obituary: Debra Lynn Brandt, a beloved member of the Horace community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Friday, March 15, 2024, after bravely battling breast cancer for nine years.
Deb was born on July 5th, 1959, in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1977. She pursued her passion for accounting, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Deb embarked on a fulfilling accounting career, starting at Pepsi, then Pactiv, and finally finding her professional home at The Avalon.
On October 8th, 1988, she exchanged vows with the love of her life, Dale Jay Brandt. Together, they shared a beautiful journey filled with love and laughter. Deb was a devoted mother to her daughter, Dacotah Lynn, and reveled in her role as a grandmother to Raelynn Mae and Milo Jo. She cherished her family above all else and took great joy in spending time with her loved ones.
In addition to her passion for family, Deb had a zest for life. She found solace in reading, expressed her creativity through scrapbooking and card making, and delighted in cooking delicious meals for her family. Deb was known for her love of coffee and spirited discussions about politics. Her kindness, warmth, and boundless love touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.
Deb is survived by her loving husband, Dale; daughter, Dacotah; granddaughters, Raelynn and Milo; mother, Ginny, and stepfather, Tuff Miller; sisters, Kris (Dale) Janning and Ann (Rob) Nielsen; brother-in-law, Dion (Lisa) Brandt; niece, Megan Janning; nephews, Cole (Jess Whittaker) Nielsen and Parker Brandt; and a host of cousins, friends, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Frederic Malmborg, and stepmother, Judi, as well as her mother-in-law, Carol Brandt.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 11 am at Horace Lutheran Church in Horace, ND.
Deb’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
