Elizabeth Tyler Obituary: Betty Tyler, a beloved member of the Aurora community known for her kindness and dedication to service, passed away at the age of 92 on [Date]. Betty was born on August 23, 1931, to Orville and Dorothy Hilker. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Tyler, her son, Tim Tyler, and her sisters, Audrey Speier, Regina Boerst, Marilyn Faber, and Chrissy Strautman.
Betty leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion through her surviving children: Rindy Phillips, Randy (Jan) Tyler, Kim Hamilton, Carol Bowling, Janie (Dan) Fehr, Lori (Paul) Becker, Lisa Tyler, Brad (Kimberly) Tyler, and Chad (Patty) Tyler. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and her special friend, Theresa Hirschauer. Additionally, Betty leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory dearly.
Throughout her life, Betty was deeply committed to serving her community. She volunteered her time and talents at various organizations, including St. Mary’s – St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry and Heart House. Betty was also a member of the Beta Sigma PHI Sorority, where she was honored as their “Woman of the Year” in 2003. Her passion for music led her to join the “Sunshine Girls” singing group, bringing joy to residents of area nursing homes with her beautiful voice.
Visitation for Betty will be held at St. Mary’s Church, located at 203 4th Street in Aurora, Indiana, on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Betty’s life will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M., followed by burial at Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or Operation Smile, reflecting Betty’s lifelong commitment to helping others in need.
Betty will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit of generosity and compassion will continue to inspire those who were touched by her presence. May she rest in peace.
