Judith Miller obituary: Judith “Judy” Ellen (Priest) Miller, age 82, of Newark, whose vibrant spirit illuminated the lives of all who knew her. Judy peacefully departed from this world on March 15, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family, at Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.

Born on March 19, 1941, to the late Corban P. and Ruth C. (Williams) Priest, Judy’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and cherished moments shared with those she held dear.

A proud graduate of Newark Catholic High School, Judy embarked on a journey filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering dedication to her family. On September 29, 1962, Judy married her beloved husband, Roy A. Miller, Sr., and together they built a life grounded in love and shared experiences.

Judy’s zest for life was evident in her love for Ohio State Athletics, her passion for card games, and her joy in exploring new places. Whether cruising the open seas or basking in the warmth of Frostproof, FL, as a snowbird, Judy embraced each adventure with enthusiasm and a contagious smile.

An active member of her community, Judy found fulfillment in her involvement with Blessed Sacrament Church, as well as various organizations including the Elks, TOPS, Moose, and Owens Corning Campground.

Above all else, Judy’s devotion to her family was unwavering. She cherished the simple joys of family breakfasts, weekly gatherings with her brother and sister-in-law, and the bonds shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In honor of Judy’s vibrant spirit, her family requests that those attending the calling hours and funeral wear blue, her favorite color. This gesture serves as a tribute to Judy’s radiant personality and the joy she brought into our lives.

Judy is survived by her five children: Nancy (Layth) Sagman, Joy Miller, Beth Ann (Brent Sr.) Martin, Roy (Ginger) “Butch” Miller Jr., and Virgil (Samantha) Miller; along with 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, David (Rita) Priest, one niece, three nephews, and sister-in-law, Dorinda (Robert) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy A. Miller, Sr., granddaughter Ruth Miller, great-granddaughter Leilah Sagman, sister-in-law Wanda Blanchard, and brother-in-law John Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with burial to follow in Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, from 4-7 p.m. at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation, with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Let us join together in honoring the beautiful life of Judith Ellen Miller, a woman whose love and light will forever shine in our hearts.
