Julia Decloedt obituary: Julia (nee Claus) of Scotland, on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Hardy Terrace Longterm Care in Mount Pleasant. Julia, in her 96th year, departed from this world surrounded by the love of her devoted family.
Julia was the beloved wife of the late Henri Decloedt, who preceded her in death in 1988. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children: Gill (Winnie), Nancy Foley, Pat Anderson, Wendy Hunks, and Paul (Denise). Julia’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was cherished by her 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Although Julia has left this earthly realm, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her son Carlo and daughter Susan Zylstra, yet their cherished memories will continue to be a source of comfort and strength for those who knew and loved them.
Julia’s warmth and love knew no bounds, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness and generosity extended to her nieces, nephews, and countless family members and friends in both Belgium and Canada.
While we mourn the loss of Julia’s physical presence, we take solace in the cherished memories we shared and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire us all.
In accordance with Julia’s wishes, a private family service will be held to celebrate her remarkable life and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Julia’s memory.
Julia (nee Claus) will forever remain in our hearts, her spirit shining brightly in the memories we hold dear. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband and children in the embrace of everlasting love.
