Marlene Shell obituary: Marlene Rosemary Lunsford Shell, a cherished member of the McMinn County community, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the age of 86. Marlene was a lifelong resident of the area, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ruth Moore Lunsford, her son Jerry Shell, her daughter Kathy Shell, and her brothers Jim Lunsford and Bill Lunsford. Although they have gone before her, their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Marlene is survived by her two sons, Rodney Shell and Danny Shell, her granddaughter Kayla Wilcox, her great-grandson Ethan Wilcox, her brother Harvey Lunsford, and her special sister-in-law Kathy Lunsford. Their love and cherished memories will provide comfort during this difficult time of loss.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home, where friends and loved ones will gather to pay their respects and offer condolences. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM at Clearwater Cemetery in Athens, where Marlene will be laid to rest alongside her loved ones. Family and friends will have the honor of serving as pallbearers, carrying Marlene to her final resting place.
