Warner Reno Obituary : Warner G. Reno, 85, of New Castle, peacefully passed away on the morning of March 15, 2024, at Carriage Manor. He was born in New Castle on October 31, 1938, the beloved son of the late Ralph Emerson and Bernice Myers Reno.
On January 30, 1960, Warner married his cherished wife, the former Norma L. Crowl, who preceded him in death on November 3, 2021. Together, they shared a bond of love and companionship that spanned over six decades.
Warner dedicated many years of his life to his work as an Ironworker, retiring from Ironworkers Local 207. A proud graduate of Laurel High School, Warner also served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army.
In his leisure time, Warner found joy in various outdoor activities, including golfing, riding motorcycles, and indulging in the thrill of hunting and fishing. However, his greatest happiness stemmed from the moments spent with his family, whom he loved dearly.
Warner is survived by his children, Suzy Gunnels-Slagle (Richard) and Mark Reno, as well as his fiancé, Chriss. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Amber Gunnels, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Warner was preceded in death by his son, Warner Reno Jr., and his siblings, Gene and Ron Reno, and Beverly Grossman.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 941 S. Mill St., on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Bill Hunley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Warner’s memory.
Warner will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
