Bobby Jones Obituary: Member of Lanett community,man died at 100

Bobby Jones Obituary: We come together today to celebrate the life of Bobby Lee Jones, a cherished member of the Lanett community, who passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, at Diversicare in Lanett, Alabama. Born on April 8, 1923, in Milltown, Alabama, Bobby’s journey through life was marked by his dedication to family, his service to his country, and his unwavering work ethic.

     Bobby, a World War II Army veteran, took great pride in his military service, which instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and began a long and distinguished career at Huguley Scott Ford. For 37 years, he was the go-to body and fender repairman, known for his meticulous work and quiet determination. His colleagues at Huguley Scott Ford remember him as a man of few words but of significant impact, a testament to his simple and unassuming nature.

     A man of faith, Bobby was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lanett. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance through the years.

     Bobby’s life was enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his sons, Barry Jones of Lanett, AL, and David Jones (Shann) of Lanett, AL. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jenna Brown (Steven) of Melbourne, FL, and Charity Simmons of Five Points, AL, as well as his great-grandchildren, Anna Crenshaw, Asa Crenshaw, both of Five Points, AL, and Brayden Brown of Melbourne, FL. Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Piper Jones, his parents, Eldora Foster Jones and Lynwood Lester Jones, and his siblings, Frances Bowers, Margaret Perry, Polly Williams, Peg Williams, Larry Jones, G. D. Jones, Jack Jones, and Billy Mack Jone
