Carolyn Hill Obituary: Tulsa, cook women died at 80

Carolyn Hill Obituary:  we announce the passing of Carolyn June Hill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. June, as she was affectionately known, departed from this world on March 14, 2024, in Tulsa, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

June was born on June 18, 1943, in Westville, Oklahoma, to Bud Crawford and Crystal Butler Crawford. Throughout her life, she experienced the joys of living in various communities between Oklahoma and California due to her father’s seasonal work. However, her heart always remained in the Greasy Creek area near Wetumka, which she proudly called home. She attended Wetumka School and built lasting friendships within the community.

In 1959, June married the love of her life, Kenneth Hill, and together they embarked on a journey of nearly 65 years of marriage. Wetumka was their lifelong home, where June worked as a cook in local restaurants and as a clerk at the Ranch-O-Tel. Later, she dedicated herself to cooking at Wewoka Woods Youth Camp, where her warmth and culinary skills touched the lives of many.

June will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife and mother, who was often described as being a “shadow” to her beloved Kenneth. She had a passion for reading, nurturing her garden of flowers, and finding treasures at yard sales and flea markets. A faithful member of the Seventh Day Advent Church, June was a born-again Christian who found comfort in her faith and looked forward to reuniting with her loved ones in Heaven.

June is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth, of the home; her children, Kenneth Hill and Debbie Leftwich of Wetumka; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 19, at 10:00 a.m. at the Wetumka First Methodist Church, where Rev. Don Williamson will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, honoring June’s memory as they accompany her on her final journey. Interment will follow at the Wetumka Cemetery under the compassionate care of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home.

As we bid farewell to June, let us hold onto the cherished memories of her love, laughter, and legacy, knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
