Glora Moran Obituary: Glora Mae Moran, affectionately known as Jimmy, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on March 15, 2024, at the North Mississippi Health Services Hospice, just shy of her 90th birthday. Born on April 7, 1934, in Eskdale, Kanawha County, West Virginia, to the late Andrew Walter and Flora Pauline Fabin, Jimmy’s life journey was one of faith, service, and infectious joy.
Growing up amidst the majestic West Virginia mountains, Jimmy attended East Bank High School and later pursued higher education at West Virginia University. She embarked on a successful career in finance, starting at Home Finance and later excelling at.
Jimmy’s life took her to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she embraced the local culture, especially the fervor for LSU Tigers football. In 1997, she and her husband, Bill, relocated to Tupelo, Mississippi, where they found a welcoming community. A dedicated member of First Baptist Church Tupelo, Jimmy radiated warmth and humor. She was actively involved in the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary for over 25 years and was a cherished member of the National Insurance Women’s organization for over five decades.
Known for her jovial spirit and creative talents, Jimmy delighted in crafting costumes and bringing joy to others. Her visits to assisted living homes, clad in whimsical outfits, brought laughter and happiness to residents. With Bill by her side for 57 years, Jimmy cherished every moment spent with family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. A service celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors, with close family and friends gathering to honor her memory.
