Troy Myers Obituary : we announce the passing of Troy Eliga Myers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Troy departed this world peacefully on March 15, 2024, at his residence in Dover, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Born on February 16, 1949, in Biscoe, Arkansas, to the late Paul Fredrick Myers and Virgie Gertrude Petty Myers, Troy embodied the values of hard work and resilience from an early age. He began his journey as a cotton gin operator and later found his calling as a dedicated truck driver. Throughout his life, Troy was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.
Described as a man who never met a stranger, Troy had a warm and welcoming spirit that endeared him to all who knew him. He had a passion for working on old cars, spending peaceful days fishing, and brightening the lives of those around him with his infectious sense of humor.
For 28 years, Troy found solace and community at Gateway Pentecostal Church of God, where he was cherished for his kind heart and generous nature.
Troy leaves behind his devoted wife of 54 years, Oma Leatha Myers, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He is survived by his loving daughter Pamela Neal and son Andrew “Andy” Troy Myers, along with six cherished grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
In addition to his immediate family, Troy is survived by his brothers David, Coy, and Greg Myers, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation to pay respects to Troy will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Russellville Family Funeral. The funeral service honoring his life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Gateway Pentecostal Church of God in Russellville, Arkansas.
