The Long Island community of Bay Shore is reeling from the tragic loss of 19-year-old Sean Mills, who was fatally shot while attending a party with friends.
Described as a young man with big dreams and a promising future, Sean had aspirations of becoming a fighter and was dedicated to training in mixed martial arts (MMA).
His family remembers him as determined and passionate about his goals.
However, Sean’s dreams were abruptly shattered on Friday night on Ackerson Boulevard in Bay Shore.
According to his family, Sean was shot in the head shortly after arriving at the party and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The senseless violence also left a 17-year-old girl injured, though thankfully her wounds were non-life-threatening.
As authorities continue their investigation, Sean’s family grapples with the shock and devastation of losing him so suddenly.

They express frustration and disbelief that such senseless acts of violence can occur, particularly against someone as young and promising as Sean.
His older brother, James Mills, recalls that Sean may have attended the party despite feeling uneasy, as he had been the target of threats on social media.
