David Hallman Obituary: The community mourns the passing of David Douglas Hallman, affectionately known as “Doug,” age 75, of Phil Campbell.
Doug peacefully departed on Sunday, March 24, 2024, following an extended illness. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and devotion.
His faith was paramount, often found immersed in the teachings of the Bible, finding solace in Matthew 11:28-30. He was lovingly referred to as “Grampy” and delighted in spending time with children, sharing moments of laughter and play.
Preceded in death by his parents, William Emanuel and Clois Hallman, and sister, Susie Artie Vee Baker, Doug is survived by his daughter, Dana Malone, and grandchildren, Tabitha Stidham and Brock Malone.
Remembered fondly by his brother, Tommy Hallman, and nephews, Duran Baker, Tom Baker, and Eric Hallman, Doug’s love extended to his chosen family, including sister Sharon Bonds and her children.

He also leaves behind a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished his presence.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel, followed by a service officiated by Pastor Kevin Palmer.
Doug will be laid to rest at Mars Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell. Pallbearers will include family and friends, with Christian Bonds serving as the honorary pallbearer.
