Joseph Thompson Obituary: Retired Captain Joseph I. Thompson, a dedicated member of Montgomery Fire/Rescue, who peacefully departed on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Retired Captain Thompson served with honor and distinction in the ranks of Montgomery Fire/Rescue for over two decades, from December 1, 1967, to January 29, 1988.

Throughout his illustrious career, he demonstrated unwavering commitment and bravery, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community alike.

His leadership qualities were evident as he rose through the ranks, attaining the positions of Lieutenant on November 4, 1976, and Captain on August 1, 1980.

A visitation to honor the life and legacy of Retired Captain Thompson will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, March 29, 2024, commencing at 2:00 pm.

Following the visitation, a private graveside service will be held for family members only at 3:00 pm.
