Joshua Alfieri Obituary: US army former drill sergeant died

Joshua Alfieri 36, Obituary: The soldier who tragically passed away at Fort Jackson last week has been identified as Sgt. 1st Class Joshua A.

Alfieri, a former drill sergeant. The 36-year-old, originally from Gladwin, Michigan, was found at his on-post residence after Fort Jackson Directorate of Emergency Services received a 911 call on March 21 2024.

Sgt. 1st Class Alfieri was serving with the 120th Adjutant General Battalion (Reception) at the time of his passing.

With over 15 years of dedicated service in the US Army, Alfieri had served as a drill sergeant until November of 2023.

Throughout his military career, Sgt. 1st Class Alfieri was decorated with numerous awards and commendations, including the prestigious Drill Sergeant Identification Badge,
