Una Bowden & Daughters Crash: Maigh Cuilinn, Co Galway, is mourning the devastating loss of Una Bowden and her two daughters, Ciara and Saoirse, who tragically died in a traffic collision on the N17 near Claremorris in Co Mayo.
Una, aged 47, was a beloved mother, while Ciara, 14, and Saoirse, 9, were cherished members of their school and sports communities.
Efforts to inform the father and husband, who is currently abroad for work, have been underway, with arrangements being made for his return to Ireland.
Residents gathered at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Maigh Cuilinn to offer prayers and condolences for the Bowden family.
Tributes poured in from various groups and organizations, including the school community of Scoil Naomh Bríde, Tullykyne, where Saoirse was a student.
The principal described Saoirse as a joyful and talented young girl, Ciara as a kind and caring older sister, and Una as a brilliant mother who supported the school in every possible way.

The local basketball club, Cumann Cispheile Mhaigh Cuilinn, expressed profound sadness at the loss of the Bowden family, highlighting Ciara’s participation in the Galway Area girls under-14 basketball team.
Corrib Basketball Club and Oughterard Rugby also offered condolences and support to the family and community.
As a mark of respect, juvenile hurling activities in the area were canceled for the weekend. The wider community has been urged to come together to support one another during this difficult time.
