Tom Henry Obituary: Fort Wayne, Indiana for four full terms, has passed away at the age of 72. The city of Fort Wayne and the Henry family on Thursday.

Mayor Henry died peacefully after experiencing a medical emergency related to his cancer.

He had been privately transported to a local hospital where he consulted with medical professionals and ultimately opted for comfort measures. Mayor Henry passed away surrounded by his loving family.

A man of great character and a true servant leader, Mayor Henry dedicated his adult life to the betterment of Fort Wayne and its residents.

He leaves behind a legacy of service and leadership that has profoundly impacted the community. Mayor Henry’s passing comes just two months after the death of his wife, Cindy, from cancer.

Mayor Henry, a Democrat, was first elected mayor of Fort Wayne in 2007 after serving five terms as a city council member.

Born in 1951, he was raised in a large family and served in the Army before pursuing higher education.

He married Cindy in 1975, and they had two children and four grandchildren.
