Jenna Newcomb Rockford, IL Death: The 15-year-old tried to protect her sister and friend when 22-year-old Christian Soto allegedly broke into the home in which they were watching a movie on Wednesday.

Soto is accused of attacking eight others in addition to the three girls. Four people were killed, including Newcomb.

Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, they fondly remember her as a kind-hearted and spirited individual who left a lasting impact on their lives.

According to reports, the teenager, identified as Newcomb, bravely intervened when the assailant, Christian Soto, allegedly broke into the home where they were watching a movie. Tragically, she lost her life while attempting to shield her loved ones from harm.

Teammates Bailey Carlson and Madison Owens described Newcomb as someone who exuded kindness and positivity.

They emphasized her gentle nature and recalled her love for creating fun and silly memories with those around her.

Newcomb’s passion for sports, particularly softball and basketball, was evident to all who knew her. She was described as a dedicated and hardworking athlete who gave her all on the field.

Her commitment to her team and her unwavering determination served as an inspiration to her peers.
