A tragic incident unfolded in Tipperary over the weekend, claiming the life of a beloved woman.
who was not only a “fantastic mother” but also three months pregnant with her second child, with just two weeks left to celebrate her first wedding anniversary.
Claire Kavanagh, aged 33 and hailing from Carrick-on-Suir, tragically lost her life in a two-car collision on the N24 at Kilsheelan, around 10 pm on Friday.
Her husband, Anthony Phelan, whom she had married just last year, sustained serious but non-life-threatening leg injuries in the crash and was subsequently transported to Waterford University Hospital.
The couple was en route from Clonmel to Carrick-on-Suir when their vehicle collided with another car approaching from the opposite direction.

The other car, driven by a male teenager, resulted in hospitalization due to non-life-threatening injuries. Additionally, there were a male and female passenger, both in their teens, in the vehicle.
The news of Ms. Kavanagh’s passing has left the town of Carrick-on-Suir and the wider community of Tipperary in profound grief.
Ms. Kavanagh and Mr. Phelan leave behind a toddler son and had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second child later this year.
