Ross Aikenhead Winsford Death: Tributes have flooded in for Ross Aikenhead following the announcement of his tragic passing by his club, Winsford United.
Ross Aikenhead, aged in his early 20s, was at the beginning of his career and had been described as a young star in Cheshire.
His club Winsford United FC released a statement on X on Sunday, confirming the tragedy.
The Cheshire-based ninth-tier football team expressed deep sadness in a statement, conveying, “It’s with deep sadness that we have to announce that our player Ross Aikenhead has sadly passed away.
Ross was a fantastic young man and a terrific footballer. He will be sorely missed by everyone associated with the club, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of Ross’s family and friends. RIP Ross.”
Adding to the condolences, Aikenhead’s former club, Wythenshawe Town, also expressed their sympathies. The promising young talent had been with the team earlier in the season.
Ross played with us in the preseason and the early part of the current season. At tomorrow’s game, there will be a minute’s applause before the game in remembrance of Ross.”
