Sean Dowden Obituary: Sara Dowden of Grenada, whose father fell ill during the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships and passed away in hospital Saturday night, won a Bronze medal in the Girls 15-17 400 meter race Sunday evening.

Grenada Amateur Swimming Association announces the sudden passing of Mr. Sean Dowden, father and husband of our National Swimmer, Sara, and Sandra Dowden, respectively.

Sean Dowden passed unexpectedly on Saturday evening in the Bahamas where he traveled to support his daughter, Senior National Swimmer, Sara Dowden, and the entire Grenada team at the 2024 CARIFTA Swimming Championships.

President of the Bahamas Aquatics Federation, Algernon Cargill, extended heartfelt condolences to the family of Sara Dowden following the sudden passing of her father, Sean Dowden.

Sean had accompanied his daughter and the Grenada national swimming team to the thirty-seventh CARIFTA Swimming championships at the Betty Kelly-Kenning, Aquatic Centre in Nassau Bahamas.
