Agent Ramos-Velez Death: Agent Eliezer Ramos-Velez. We honor your supreme sacrifice and offer our prayers for the comfort of your loved ones, both Blood and Blue.
Agent Ramos-Velez was tragically shot and killed while following several off-road vehicles whose riders had been recklessly firing guns in the air and at passing cars along PR 26 at approximately 4:00 am.
Even while off-duty and in his personal vehicle, Agent Ramos-Velez, still in uniform, selflessly intervened upon witnessing the dangerous situation.
He radioed in the event and bravely followed the suspects as they entered the Sabana Abajo Housing Project.
Tragically, Agent Ramos-Velez’s valiant efforts came to a devastating end when his body was found in his vehicle inside the housing complex.
His service weapon and police radio had been stolen, and the suspects responsible for his senseless murder remain at large.
Agent Ramos-Velez had dedicated 12 years of service to the Puerto Rico Police Department. He leaves behind his girlfriend and infant son.
