Vontae Davis Cause of Death: Davis was found dead Monday morning at a home owned by his grandmother in Southwest Ranches, Fla.
Former Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis was found dead in his South Florida home on Monday, but police say no foul play is suspected.
A death investigation is currently underway, though investigators have said they don’t expect foul play.
Davis, who spent a decade in the NFL, is best known for his abrupt retirement in 2018. At halftime of the Bills’ Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Davis abruptly retired. After, he released a lengthy statement explaining his move.
No cause of death has been released pending autopsy results. Police said in a statement that the investigation is still active.

He played three seasons for Miami before being traded for a second-round pick to Indianapolis just before the 2012 season.
Davis finished his Miami Dolphins career with 149 combined tackles, nine interceptions, and one sack.
