Bernard Carter III Obituary: Tragedy struck the community of Gainesville with the untimely death of Bernard Carter III, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting incident near the Ironwood Golf Course.
Gainesville Police Department officers responded to the scene at Lewis Place Apartments on Northeast 15th Street following reports of gunfire around 6:50 p.m. on March 24 2024.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that Bernard Carter III had sought refuge in his family’s apartment after being shot.
Despite efforts to save him, Bernard tragically passed away several days later at the hospital.
As the community mourns this loss, Gainesville Police Department detectives are diligently working to apprehend the individual responsible for this senseless act of violence.
They urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in bringing justice for Bernard Carter III and his grieving loved ones.
