Kayla Alery charged murder, Raul Cardoza killed in Las Vegas shooting

Kayla Alery charged murder: Kayla Alery, 27, faces serious charges including open murder and additional felonies in connection with the tragic shooting of 41-year-old Raul Cardoza in Las Vegas on March 26 2024.

The incident, characterized by authorities as a “random shooting,” resulted in the loss of Cardoza’s life while he was seated in his work van.

Appearing before Judge Ann E. Zimmerman in Clark County Justice Court on April 2, Alery was ordered to remain in custody without bail. A special public defender was appointed to represent her during the proceedings.

Records from the court reveal that Alery had recently been released after serving time for an arson conviction.

Additionally, she faces allegations of assaulting an inmate while awaiting processing at the Clark County Detention Center following her arrest in connection with Cardoza’s death.

Alery is scheduled for a status check in court on Thursday as the legal process unfolds in this tragic case.
