Una Carlin-Bowden & Ciara, Saoirse, Mother and daughters killed in Mayo road crash

Una Carlin-Bowden & Ciara, Saoirse: Today, the community gathers to bid farewell to Una Carlin-Bowden (47) and her beloved daughters Ciara and Saoirse, aged 10 and 14, who tragically lost their lives in a road crash on the N17 in Mayo last week.

The funeral procession will commence from Una’s father’s residence in Miltown, Raphoe, at 11 am this morning, making its way to St. Eunan’s Church for the funeral mass at midday.

Following the service, they will be laid to rest in the family plot in the old graveyard, Convoy. In a touching tribute, a notice on RIP.ie has requested “family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Madrá – a dog and cat rescue centre in Galway that was very close to the hearts of the girls.”

“It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the tragic deaths of Úna Mary Bowden (nee Carlin) and her beautiful daughters Ciara Mary Bowden (14) and Saoirse Bowden (10) who lived near Moycullan, Galway,” the notice states.

“Predeceased by her mother/grandmother Mary. Beloved wife and daughters of David. Much loved daughter and granddaughters of John, and sorely missed by his partner Jill and the Earls family, daughter-in-law and granddaughters of Gus and Eileen Bowden.
